Alginate Oligosaccharide - Dora Arouse
General Information
Dora Arouse is a new trend elicitor based on alginate oligosaccharides (AOS/ADO). It can stimulate the salicylic acid (SA) and jasmonic acid (JA) signaling pathways in plants, bolstering systemic immunity from the roots upward. This confers enhanced resistance to pathogens and abiotic stresses like climate changes, while also promoting vigorous growth. This product adheres to organic protocols and obtained organic certification from Ecocert in May 2023. It can serve as a raw material for fertilizers and soil amendments.
Alginate-derived oligosaccharides have been shown to substantially boost levels of plant growth-promoting hormones like indole acetic acid, gibberellin and zeatin in roots and shoots. This stimulates root development. Studies indicate that 14 hours after applying these oligosaccharides, indole acetic acid concentrations in plants peak at 8-10 times normal values.
After three years of experimental verification, we found Dora Arouse demonstrates effective results for rooting, fertilizer efficiency, and stress resistance:

Application
5.1 Natural rooting agent for plants
The Dora Alginate oligosaccharide can be used as rooting hormone alternative, tested by Dora Trial Team, the final dosage 5-30ppm can induce rooting.
5.2 Fertilizer synergist
Adding 0.01-0.1% of Dora Arouse to fertilizers such as compound fertilizer, urea, and nitrogen fertilizer can increase their utilization efficiency, cut fertilizer costs and enable greener, low-carbon agriculture.
5.3 Seed Treatment
Standard wet treatment method on seeds, then use 1 gram Dora Arouse alginate oligosaccharide per 1KG seeds.
Field Trial
6.1 Dora Arouse Alginate Oligosaccharide on Onion
On October 10, 2021, Dora Agritech started testing the rooting effects of alginate-derived oligosaccharides (AOS) on onions.
1. Root irrigation: First, dilute 1g ADO in 500ml water and stir. Then dilute 5ml of this solution in 2000ml water and use it to irrigate 1m2 area around roots.
2. Foliar spray: In onion seedling stage, first dilute 1g ADO in 500ml water and stir. Then dilute 15ml of this solution in 1.5L water and spray on leaves. Do foliar sprays twice during onion growth period.

6.2 Dora Arouse Alginate Oligosaccharide on Vegetables
In May 2021, ADO solutions were prepared at concentrations of 5ppm, 10ppm, 15ppm, 20ppm and 25ppm.
The solutions were used to irrigate roots after sowing and again on the fourth day. The plants were then cultivated at constant temperature for 14 days.

6.3 Dora Arouse Alginate Oligosaccharide Used as Fertilizer Synergist
In 2021, Dora Agri tested the effects of alginate oligosaccharides and urea on cucumber seedlings. The results showed that adding Arouse to urea can substantially increase fertilizer efficiency from an agricultural production standpoint.

6.4 Dora Arouse Alginate Oligosaccharide on Maize
In summary, treatments with 0.01%-0.1% Dora Arouse reduced fertilizer usage by 30% compared to the control, without negatively affecting corn yield or quality. Instead, Dora Arouse enhanced both corn quality and yield, boosting fertilizer use efficiency.

6.5 Dora Arouse Alginate Oligosaccharide on Stresses Tolerance
Dora Arouse has proven effective in helping lettuce plants withstand stresses such as drought, waterlogging and salinization. Across key parameters like plant height, plant weight and relative water content, Dora's alginate oligosaccharide demonstrates a high level of performance. We recommend applying Dora Arouse at 50ppm to boost plants' tolerance against abiotic stressors.
