N6-Furfuryladenine 6KT Kinetin
General Information
Kinetin, also known as 6-Furfurylaminopurine or 6KT, is a type of plant hormone that promotes cell division. It is commonly used in plant tissue culture to induce the formation of callus tissue from wounded tissue and to regenerate bud tissue from the callus when used at a lower concentration along with growth hormones.
N6-furfuryladenine 6KT Kinetin is also widely used to produce new plants from tissue cultures through inducing shoot proliferation and axillary bud growth. The ability of N6-furfuryladenine 6KT Kinetin to stimulate cell division makes it a useful plant growth regulator for plant propagation and regeneration.
