1. The dosage must be appropriate and cannot be increased at will. Plant growth regulators are a class of substances that have similar physiological and biological effects to plant hormones and should not be used excessively. Generally, the dosage per acre is only a few grams or milliliters. Some farmers are always afraid that using too little will have no effect, so they increase the dosage or concentration at will. This will not only fail to promote plant growth, but will inhibit its growth. In severe cases, it may even lead to deformed leaves, dryness and falling off, and the death of the entire plant.
2. Cannot be mixed at will. When many vegetable farmers use plant growth regulators, in order to save trouble, they often mix them with chemical fertilizers, pesticides, fungicides, etc. Whether plant growth regulators can be mixed with chemical fertilizers, pesticides and other substances must be determined after carefully reading the instructions for use and conducting tests. Otherwise, not only will the effects of promoting growth, preserving flowers and fruits, and supplementing fertilizers not be achieved, but the effects will be caused by improper mixing. Drug damage occurs. For example: ethephon liquid is usually acidic and cannot be mixed with alkaline substances; ethanol is easy to decompose when exposed to alkali and cannot be mixed with alkaline pesticides and fertilizers [2]
3. The method of use must be appropriate. Some vegetable farmers often do not read the instructions for use carefully before using plant growth regulators, but mix the plant growth regulators directly with water. Be sure to check whether it can be directly mixed with water, because some plant growth regulators cannot be directly dissolved in water. If the mother solution is not prepared in advance and then prepared to the required concentration, it will be difficult to mix the agent, which will affect the use effect. Therefore, be sure to strictly follow the dilution instructions when using.
4. Growth regulators cannot be used in place of fertilizers. Growth regulators are not plant nutrients. They can only regulate growth and cannot be used as a substitute for fertilizers. When water and fertilizer conditions are insufficient, spraying too much plant growth regulators can be harmful. Therefore, when poor plant growth is found, management such as fertilization and watering must first be strengthened. Only on this basis can growth regulators be used to effectively play their role.
5. Plant growth regulators are pesticide products, and the product packaging must have a formal "Three Pesticide Certificates" with a yellow label.
6. Use strictly in accordance with the instructions and take protective measures to prevent any impact on the safety of people, livestock and drinking water.
