The Action Mechanism of Trichoderma Soil Enhancer

Feb 05, 2024 Leave a message

Trichoderma is a natural soil amendment. It helps poor soil gain access to organic matter and microorganisms in the soil.

At present, the utilization rate of chemical fertilizer is low in some place. Large amounts of fertilizer are lost or solidified in the soil. This situation leads to many soil problems such as salinization, compaction, and acidification conditions.

Help the soil establish good conditions

Trichoderma can improve the structure of the soil. The hyphae and other materials in which Trichoderma colonizes act as cementing materials, helping the soil form a stable granular structure that is porous and rich in nutrients. Soil aggregate structure can balance water and nutrients and maintain hydration and fertility.

Secondly, Trichoderma can increase the solubility of nutrients in the soil and dissolve insoluble nutrients such as phosphorus and potassium. Trichoderma secretes organic acids and natural growth hormones to promote the growth of crop roots. And by stimulating root development, it absorbs nutrients from the soil more efficiently.

Alleviate soil salinization

The key to solving soil salinization is to improve the absorption and utilization efficiency of soil salt by crops.

First, Trichoderma can improve fertilizer utilization and reduce nitrate accumulation.

Secondly, Trichoderma can not only improve the salt tolerance of crops, but also use excess salt to promote its growth rate, thereby reducing salt in the rhizosphere microenvironment.

As a result, the salinity of the rhizosphere microenvironment will decrease. In these two ways, the inhibitory effect of salt on crop growth is significantly weakened.

Reduce heavy metals and organic pollutants

1. Trichoderma can promote the growth of super-accumulator plants, especially the growth of root systems, and greatly enhances the ability of super-accumulator plants to absorb heavy metals in the soil.

2. Heavy metals can be concentrated in the space between the vacuole and cell wall of Trichoderma.

3. Trichoderma can secrete different types of enzymes to help degrade organic pollutants such as agrochemical residues in the soil.
