General Information

NAA 1-Naphthylacetic Acid is a broad-spectrum auxin plant growth hormone. It can enter plants through leaves and reach actively growing parts along with nutrient flow.

NAA promotes root differentiation and formation, accelerates rooting of transplants and cuttings, induces flowering, increases chlorophyll synthesis, reduces fruit drop, improves crop maturity, and boosts yields.

Beyond basic growth hormone functions, NAA induces adventitious and fibrous roots in solanaceae crops. It is used for rooting seeds and cuttings.

NAA 1-Naphthylacetic Acid can rapidly expand fruits and tubers, so it is used as a bulking agent for vegetables and fruits. It improves flowering, fruiting, and prevents fruit drop. It increases yield and quality while promoting lush growth.

NAA also enhances crop tolerance to drought, cold, flooding, disease, salinity, and other stresses. It effectively improves adversity resistance.

Functions

1. Prevent flower and fruit drop in beans and capsicum

1.1 Spray bean flowers and pods with 5-25 mg/kg NAA to reduce abscission.

1.2 Spray capsicum flowers with 50 mg/kg NAA 4-5 times every 7-10 days to increase fruit set.

2. Prevent radish from becoming hollow

Spray 10 mg/kg NAA 25-40 days after seeding to prevent hollowness during growth and storage.

3. Promote vegetable propagation from cuttings

3.1 Soak cucumber vine cuttings in diluted NAA to induce rooting and increase survival rate.

3.2 Quickly soak cabbage/cauliflower stem cuttings in NAA then stick under warm, humid conditions to promote rooting.

4. Enhance cucumber seed germination and seedling development

4.1 Very low NAA levels increase germination, root growth, chlorophyll, and vigor.

4.2 Higher concentrations inhibit germination and seedling growth.

Tips of NAA

1. Dissolve NAA

NAA is insoluble in cold water, so dissolve it first in a small amount of alcohol, then dilute with water.

2. Avoid phytotoxicity

40mg/L NAA can reduce yields in autumn white pear, higher concentrations cause deformation, leaf wilt, shedding. 50mg/L or more causes damage in figs. Excessive levels also damage watermelon and melon.

3. Recommendations for fruiting applications

Carefully spray only on flowers/fruit, use small amounts split into multiple applications. Combine with foliar feeds and micronutrients for best results.

4. Flexible dosage considerations

4.1 Increase dosage for dormant potatoes, decrease for sprouting potatoes.

4.2 Higher rates can extend storage of short dormancy varieties.

4.3 Follow label instructions carefully for foliar sprays. Vary concentration by crop and growth stage to avoid damage.
