Indole 3 Butyric Acid IBA
General Information
Indole 3 Butyric Acid IBA is a root-promoting auxin plant growth hormone. IBA induces crops to form adventitious roots, spreading from leaf seeds and other parts into the plant body through foliar spraying, dipping roots, etc. It concentrates on the growth points to promote cell division and induce adventitious root formation. Roots developed under IBA are characterized by increased number, vertical growth, thickening, and prolific root hairs. Compared to Indole Acetic Acid (IAA), IBA has higher activity. However, IBA will slowly decompose under strong light. When stored under shaded conditions, the molecular structure of IBA remains stable. Overall, IBA is an effective rooting hormone that promotes robust root growth when applied correctly.

Functions
1. Stimulate cell division in active plant tissues like roots, shoots, and fruits to promote localized growth.
2. Long-lasting effects and high specificity.
3. Induce new root formation, root mass development, and adventitious root growth in cuttings.
4. Break seed dormancy and stimulates root growth.
5. IBA is the optimal rooting hormone for use at low winter temperatures.
Tips of IBA
1. Storage
IBA decomposes when exposed to light. Package it in dark containers and store in a cool, dry place.
2. Preparing solutions
Aqueous IBA solutions must be used immediately after preparation.
3. Safety
Wear gloves and wash hands after use. IBA can be absorbed through skin. Avoid breathing in powdered IBA.
