General Information
Pyridoxine, also known as vitamin B6, is a water-soluble vitamin that plays a key role in plant growth and development. Supplementing plants with pyridoxine has been shown to increase resistance to diseases and pests, allowing crops to maintain high yields. The vitamin also promotes stem and leaf growth for stronger, more robust plants. Additionally, pyridoxine can act as a rooting agent, stimulating root formation and growth in cuttings and tissue culture. Research published in Plant Physiology demonstrated that adding pyridoxine vitamina B6 to propagation mediums significantly improved rooting rates and root length in cabbage leaves. An optimal concentration of 0.5mg/L pyridoxine elicited the best root growth effects. This root-boosting capacity has been observed across various plant species like tomatoes and corn as well.
