Thiamine for Plants
General Information
Thiamine, also known as vitamin B1, has recently been found to have significant impacts beyond nutrition in promoting plant health. Studies show that thiamine induces systemic acquired resistance (SAR) in various plant species against fungal, bacterial and viral pathogens. Treatment with thiamine leads to transient expression of pathogenesis-related (PR) genes involved in plant immune responses.
Thiamine also stimulates stronger, more rapid PR gene expression through up-regulation of protein kinase C activity. This activation of disease resistance genes and pathways by thiamine confers protection that spreads across the plant and persists for over 15 days post-treatment. Beyond disease resistance, thiamine mobilizes defense mechanisms systemically to equip plants with durable, broad-spectrum immunity.
Dora Agritech can provide high quality 99% thiamine for plants.
