In 2022, Dora trial team did a trial of Alginate Oligosaccharide(AOS/ADO) on corn seedling, let find out the brief results:
Experiment objective: To study the effect of different concentrations of Dora Alginate Oligosaccharide on the synergistic effect of fertilizer on corn growth.
Through soil seedling experiments, the effects of concentration changes on the growth of maize seedlings in terms of plant height, root length, fresh weight, and dry weight were studied.
The experiment was conducted in the No. 3 greenhouse of National Agricultural Science and Technology Park, Changshu, Jiangsu Province. The seedlings were added to the seedling substrate in the tray, and the corn seeds were sown. The water and light conditions were maintained to allow for normal growth.
When the plant grows to 3-4 true leaves, transplant it into a planting pot and fertilize it.
There are 5 treatments in the experiment:
Group A: CK, 100 % NPK;
Group B: 100% NPK + 0.01% Dora AOS
Group C: 100% NPK + 0.1% Dora AOS
Group D: 80% NPK +0.01% Dora AOS
Group E: 80% NPK + 0.1% Dora AOS
Group F: 70% NPK + 0.01% Dora AOS
Group G: 70% NPK + 0.1% Dora AOS
Trial Conculsion
Root Fresh Weight: The fresh root weight of group E and group G was much higher than that of the control group CK, with an average fresh root weight of 2.754g for group G in the second measurement, while the control group only had 1.708g.
Root Dry Weight: The dry root weight of group F and group G was significantly higher than that of the other groups, with group G having the highest daily increment of 0.0134g, which was 2.2 times higher than CK group.
Root Length: Group F had the best root length performance, which was 58.24% higher than that of the control group.
Next were group G and group B, which were 48.99% and 41.37% higher than the control group, respectively. This shows that adding 0.1% Dora ADO to the fertilizer solution can significantly promote root development when the fertilization amount is reduced.
Aboveground Fresh Weight: Group C and group G had the most significant performance in terms of above ground fresh weight, which were 1.07 times and 1.25 times higher than the control group, respectively.
This shows that adding 0.1% Dora AOS to the fertilizer solution has a more significant effect on increasing above-ground biomass when reducing the fertilization amount by 30%.
Plant Height: Group G had a significantly higher plant height than the control group, while there was no significant difference between other groups and the control group.
At last, the addition of Dora Alginate Oligosaccharide can maintain the growth of corn seedlings, increase the fertilizer utilization and save the cost on fertilizers.
